Redbourn is at significant risk of overdevelopment with plans to add 5000 houses, predominantly on greenbelt land around the village.
Despite over 2000 people signing our petition to stop these developments, St Albans City and District council are saying their hands are tied by national government rules.
it is clear we will now need to mount a direct legal challenge in order to be taken seriously and protect our home.
For that reason, we need to raise up to £100,000 to appoint key solicitors and planning experts to undertake a judicial review of opportunistic planning applications.
Please donate generously if you can to support this cause, protect our greenbelt and stop the destruction of Redbourn as we know it.

DISCLAIMER
Funds raised will be used to support legal, planning, and professional action aimed at resisting inappropriate development affecting Redbourn, including but not limited to the appointment of solicitors, barristers, planning consultants, environmental experts, and associated disbursements.
Redbourn Residents Group leadership will retain full discretion over how funds are allocated and applied, including the selection, prioritisation, and pursuit of one or more legal or planning routes, based on professional advice, prospects of success, cost-effectiveness, and the best interests of the wider community at the relevant time.
This may include pursuing action against one or more developers, landowners, planning decisions, or local authority actions, or reallocating resources between potential legal challenges as circumstances evolve.
Donors acknowledge that contributions are made to support the overall objective of protecting Redbourn from overdevelopment, rather than any specific legal action, outcome, or defendant.
Where circumstances change such that a judicial review or specific legal route is no longer viable or proportionate, funds may be used for alternative lawful actions consistent with the campaign’s aims, including preparatory work, expert advice, or related planning challenges.
Any funds not ultimately required for active legal proceedings will be retained for future related action or community protection efforts aligned with this purpose.
