Help Us Fight for Justice: Support Our Legal Battle Against Unfair Service Charges

We are a group of shared ownership leaseholders who have been engaged in a relentless battle against Notting Hill Genesis (NHG), a social housing provider known for its non-compliance. Since 2012, we have been challenging the exorbitant and unjustifiable service charges imposed upon us, and now, we are finally taking our fight to the tribunal on May 21-23. However, we need your help to make this possible.

Our legal expenses for the three-day tribunal are a staggering £18,600. NHG has strategically pushed for a long tribunal, fully aware that the financial burden might force us to abandon our pursuit of justice. We have depleted our initial fund, and some of us are struggling to contribute due to the staggering increase in our annual service charges—an increase of over 265% over the years.

To put this into perspective, we are paying £5,000 per year for a one-bedroom, 430 square feet flat, and £7,000 for a 739 square feet flat. This financial strain is primarily due to NHG's decision in 2012 to impose charges for services we do not benefit from, such as a concierge in a separate, beautifully maintained entrance in the private (non-social housing) side of the development. NHG instead of challenging their lease with the private residents management company and their landlord, decided to pass on these unfair and high service charges to their affordable housing leaseholders.

Our case is not just about us. We hope to set a precedent that will protect other social housing residents and leaseholders from facing similar injustices. By supporting our legal battle, you are not only helping us but also potentially sparing countless others from the pain and cost of going to tribunal.

We humbly ask for your support. Even a small contribution £5 can make a difference. Together, we can stand up against this 'Goliath' and fight for a fair and just resolution.

Thank you for your generosity and for standing with us in this critical fight.
