My name is Caitlin, and I’m raising funds to support my sister-in-law, Lauren Johnson and her fiancé Tyler Bradley , who has been harassed over and over again by a union company, UNITEHERELOCAL1 in Chicago. In summary: Lauren and Tyler are to be married July 2026. In November 2025, Lauren created a "wedding website" for her guests. Her website included all the information for her wedding including travel recommendations for out of town guests. Late November, Lauren started getting phone calls to her personal cell and workplace asking for her. She did not feel comfortable answering a call from someone she did not know. Next thing you know, they are calling her friends personal cells and their workplaces asking for Lauren to get ahold of the caller. Lauren decided to give a call back to this person and let them know to stop calling in a voicemail. Turns out the caller was an employee for UniteHereLocal1, informing Lauren to boycott a hotel that was listed as a recommendation on her website. Soon after getting that voicemail, 3 people showed up to Laurens workplace with a large banner stating "Tell Lauren Johnson to boycott Doubletree Hotel South Bend." They stayed for over an hour holding this banner and flyers. She took the hotel off of her wedding website and made it password protected, thinking everything would be fixed. They then sent her another letter asking her to share her password to the wedding website so they can be sure the hotel stays off of it. Obviously, Lauren did not feel comfortable continuing to let them have her personal information. She filed a police report and got a cease and desist on them. Soon after sending that letter, they sent out "mock" wedding invitations to family and friends asking them to boycott the hotel. These invitations were sent out over a month after taking the hotel off of her website. The harassment has not stopped.

Since this union has continued to harass Lauren, she took her story to the news. It started with our local news, WSBT22, and escalated to now CBSCHICAGO, CNN, Daily Mail US/UK, and many more unknown news stations.

We are asking for help with legal fees. Lauren and Tyler are to be married in July of 2026. Taking this to court was the last thing they wanted to do considering the time, energy, and costs of dealing with the courts. Lauren has dealt with so much from this company. The harassment, stalking, and emotional distress this has caused. Wedding planning is already stressful enough!
