Legal Expenses for Roberta aka Tia
Donation protected
We are reaching out to seek your support for a deeply personal matter. On March 24, 2023, my mother Roberta Pinto tragically passed away while she was in Brazil. Initially, we were informed by her boyfriend, Thiago Vaz, that Roberta had died by suicide.
In Brazil, unfortunately, cases involving women and their partners often go uninvestigated. The authorities quickly ruled my mothers death as suicide without a thorough investigation, despite our family’s firm belief that she would never have taken her own life. Roberta was a vibrant and loving person who cherished her life and her children.
Over the past year and a half, my grandmother Ivone and my aunt Renata and I have worked tirelessly, hiring a dedicated team of lawyers and investigators to uncover the truth. Our efforts have led to a significant development: on August 5, 2024, Thiago Vaz was arrested and charged with my mothers death. The journey for justice is far from over, as the first court hearing is scheduled for October 2024.
We are now facing substantial legal expenses, including costs for witnesses who must travel from Goiania to Rio de Janeiro to testify. This financial burden is overwhelming, especially for my grandmother, who is also raising my brother.
We humbly ask for your generosity to help cover these legal fees and support our fight for justice. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in our pursuit of truth and accountability.
Thank you for your kindness and support as we honor Roberta’s memory and seek justice for her.
