⚠️Wake Up Wayne NJ is a fast-growing neighbor network started in Spring 2026 organized to ensure that development in our township fits our infrastructure, environment, and neighborhood character. It grew to over 200 members in its first 24 hours.

⚖️️️A pending application before the Wayne Township Zoning Board of Adjustment (case BOA-2025-036) proposes a 53,000 sq ft structure the applicant describes as a Mosque and Community Center with 251 parking spaces on a 9.7-acre wooded wetland tract at 225 Colfax Road, in an R-30 Low Density Residential zone. The application requires multiple variances and waivers. Neighbors face serious flooding, traffic, and environmental concerns on a county road that already can't handle peak hours.

To be heard, we need qualified legal and expert representation in front of the Board. Every dollar goes into a dedicated attorney trust account for legal representation and expert witnesses in this matter. No funds go to organizers personally. This trust account is administered by our attorney and is fully auditable.

By popular demand, the proposed mosque and community center at 225 Colfax Road application is our first organized action. The site is a 9.7-acre wooded wetland that drains north along Colfax Road into Laurelwood Arboretum, a 30-acre public park maintained by Wayne Township. The proposed structure requires conditional use variances, eight design waivers, and an environmental protection waiver, all simultaneously. Hearings before the Zoning Board of Adjustment are ongoing.
