Legal Aid for Single Dad & Thriving Daughter

My name is Jessica, I am raising money to help my neighbor/friend/employee of 10 years and his 7 year old daughter. He is currently fighting a custody battle that has been going on for 2 years now with no feasible end in sight. Attorney fees are getting really hard for him to keep up with, especially accompanied with daily life of a single father. He receives no assistance whatsoever from the state or the mother. He makes just over the income limit for any help, he has had to take on 2 part time jobs on top of his full time job just to keep afloat. He has exhausted all other resources to include an large payroll advance from his employer, his family and friends have chipped in all they could, and is working all he can between 3 jobs.

Slight back story, as it is far to long to get into here. However, would be more than happy to go into greater detail to include legal documents.

The child's mother abandoned her at her maternal grandmother's home nearly three years ago, has been and is currently heavily addicted to drugs, in and out of jail for drug related charges, and MIA more times than not. He started in Wyoming his home state (where child was born) and filed for emergency custody of his child. This was granted due to the circumstances, however it was not mom that he had to file for emergency custody from, it was grandma. Grandma had illegally obtained guardianship of the child in Washington, where mom abandoned child. This rulling in Washington was obtained illegally due to grandma admittingly put the incorrect name of the father and lied about having contact with the father. That of course was overturned immediately as both states were involved in the filling of emergency custody in Wyoming. Grandma has filed many upon many motions against him in Washington, many of them repeats, all but one has been dismissed. The one that has not been dismissed is set for trial in June. This one is called Defacto Parantage, where grandma is petitioning the courts in Washington to legally appoint her as a parent. Since this motion was filed last year, grandma has filed multiple motions related to this to include trying to prove him unfit, all have been dismissed. After the last one that was dismissed she filed a motion in Wyoming to dismiss the emergency custody. Then turned around and filed another motion in Washington. He currently has 3 different court dates in 2 different states. His lawyer in Washington has been with the case since the begining, 2 years ago, and has worked a reasonable (yet hard to keep up with) payment plan for the upcoming trial. Trial expenses are quoted by the lawyer to be $7,500 accompanied with the cost of traveling to Washington, staying there through the trial, child care for while he is gone, and now his lawyer in Wyoming has to be paid again since he hasn't used that lawyer in 2 years.

All the while this 7 year old girl is thriving beyond belief. Excelling in school, has a ton of friends, and a dog that loves her dearly. When she came to him she was on over the counter medicines that were not healthy and concerning enough that he took her straight to the pediatrician and got her off of them and on a correct diet/schedule.

I am here trying to raise some money to ease some of his worries about the large lawyer bill and can concentrate on his daughter.
