With the state of the world right now, it's more important than ever to protect our families. Although I am on Magnolia's birth certificate via Washington's assisted reproduction laws, I have decided to pursue second parent adoption to ensure that I am recognized as her parent throughout the country.

This is a somewhat lengthy, expensive and emotionally invasive process; I am self-filing in order to keep costs low, but I could use help with the costs of filing and hiring a social worker (did you know that, in addition to going in front of a judge, a second parent adoption requires an interview and home visit?). I know money is tight for most folx these days; truly, any amount will help! The entire process can take a few months, so I would love to be able to get started as soon as possible.
