Hi all. Want to join me in making a difference? I’m raising money to benefit St. Richard's Hospice Foundation, who have helped my family massively (see below), and any donation will help make an impact.

St Richard's Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days whilst supporting their loved ones at the same time.

My auntie Heather was diagnosed with cancer a year ago and battled through the illness until she sadly passed away on the 29th August. This amazing organisation helped every step of the way and this is summed up perfectly by my uncle’s testimonial below:

‘St. Richard’s hospice supported us from the very start. They made sure we had all the equipment we needed to enable Heather to stay at home, ensuring she was comfortable and we were coping with everything as best we could.

St Richard’s checked on us every other day and phoned us daily to make sure we were ok.

St. Richard’s seemed to know Heather’s time was getting close and gave us nurses to stay overnight/for part days to support us with everything, which was a massive help!

During her final week we had a couple of nurses here constantly helping with pain relief and keeping Heather as comfortable as possible.

In her final days we had 4 nurses here and they went above and beyond. They were due to switch shifts but didn’t want to. We had another nurse who wasn’t working that day come from home to be here and support us. They all wanted to make sure Heather was pain free. They all wanted to stay and be here for us!

I can’t thank them enough for all their support and what they have done for us. They are still supporting me now and will continue to do so as long as I need them. I will be forever grateful’

These words are the inspiration for me to make a difference! My challenge is to cut alcohol out of my life for the month of October in support of St. Richard’s. For most that would be an easy ask but, for those who know me, it is not! Two days in and it’s been tough sipping on the alcohol frees but with your love and support I know I can do it!!
