On the 1st of March, the Leeds Sikh & Punjabi Society will be taking on a charity hike in the Peak District to raise funds for Pingalwara Charitable Society.
Pingalwara is a well-established charitable organisation based in Punjab that provides lifelong care, shelter, education, and medical support to people who are abandoned, disabled, orphaned, or otherwise vulnerable. They care for thousands of residents across multiple centres, offering not just basic necessities, but dignity, stability, and compassion to those who often have nowhere else to turn.
Donations to Pingalwara directly support:
- Food and daily care for residents
- Medical treatment and rehabilitation for individuals with physical and mental disabilities
- Education and vocational training to help people build independence
- Shelter and long-term support for those without family or resources
This hike is our way of turning effort into impact. While the challenge will push us physically, it’s a small sacrifice compared to the difference these funds can make in someone’s life.
All funds raised on this page will be donated directly to Pingalwara Charitable Society. If we exceed our target, all additional donations will still go towards supporting Pingalwara’s essential services and ongoing projects.
Any donation — big or small — makes a real difference. Thank you for supporting our hike and helping us contribute to such an important cause.
