Lebanon Lutheran Church on 131st and Manistee in the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago was broken into during the storm overnight Thursday April 9, 2015.

Burglars entered through a window in the church's meeting room and left a wake of damaged, destruction and theft in their path. They pried open door frames with prybars damaging the frames while accessing and destroying offices, including one utilized by the Hegewisch Community Center.

Computers, a popcorn machine and a bose speaker system recently purchased for the church and many other items were stolen by the vandals that will need replacement, as well as those items that have been damaged and will need repair.

Although the cleanup has begun, the church and the community center need our help replacing what was damaged and stolen, and hopefully we can gain enough donations to add a security camera system as well.

Currently, damages are estimated between $10,000 and $15,000.

Thank you in advance for your care and generosity in helping these members of our community repair and replace what was senselessly and selfishly stolen and damaged by these criminals.
