Leah - Volunteering in Cambodia with UCDVO

Hi, my name is Leah and I will be travelling to Cambodia this summer with UCDVO. I will be volunteering with the education project MOEI, teaching non-formal English classes in a partner school. For this reason, I am hoping to raise funds for the charity.

UCDVO is a registered charity that runs a volunteering and global citizenship programme. The goal of UCDVO is "for the UCD community to have a deeper understanding of the challenges facing humanity worldwide and the determination and self-belief to tackle the issues underlying global poverty and inequality".

UCDVO works in partnership with MOEI, providing English-language education for migrant children and adults. I am so excited to be involved in this project, as I am currently completing my Masters in Secondary Education and teaching everyday.

In preparation for volunteering this summer, I will partake in fundraising and I hope to raise money through this page. I will also complete global citizenship education courses over the next couple of months, as well as workshops and events.

My target is €1,850. These funds will all go to UCDVO and will be used primarily to "support UCDVO’s overseas partners run vital health, education, livelihoods, and community development programmes".
