Laxman Das, a senior sous chef, was going to work on Wednesday 6th August morning. He was brutally assaulted at Charlemont place, Dublin 2.
Three assailants punched him heavily all over his head, face, shoulder and kicked him in legs and all around his body. The punches were so severe that his helmet broke into multiple pieces.
He requested the assailants to stop and told that he is going to give everything to them, but they continued punching him innumerable times.
The assailants took away cash, 2 expensive mobile phones, all bank cards, Public Service Card, Passport Card and his Electric bike. They also took away his bag which had many items including his childhood photos with his late mother, which he will never get back. Financially, he lost around 7000 Euro worth of items including cash, mobiles, Electric bike and other stuff.
He was taken in an ambulance to the A&E at St Vincent Hospital. Throughout the day, the doctors conducted a number of tests (including brain CT scan) and finally released him late evening that day.
He is currently recovering. He is better than last week, but has a number of issues - he can't lift his right hand properly at the moment, he gets pain in his head when he talks, his jaw pains while eating and he feels dizzy sometimes. He is under trauma, getting panic attacks and finding it difficult to sleep. He also has pain in his left knee - he is limping, and has difficulty climbing stairs. This incident has taken a very bad toll on his mental health. He is going to the doctors for treatment and has been advised to go for physiotherapy as well.

It won't be easy for Laxman da and all of us to forget this dreadful incident. It will be a lifetime scar for him.
We are doing this fundraiser to help Laxman Das to get back on his feet. We wish to donate an Electric bike, a good quality helmet and few additional necessary accessories.
Many thanks for your support. Together, let us make a meaningful difference and bring some smile back on Laxman da's face
