Lava Peak Road Fund

Hi my name is Dave Wallen I live at 11250 S Lava Peak Ave.

I am the guy you may see sometimes on a backhoe working on the road.

As you know the rain has brought some wear and tear to the road that we all share to access our homes and properties. I have been maintaining the first 1/2 mile for the last several years.

A few years ago we were lucky enough to get the milling material from the new road project going through the Vail town site which has made a great road mostly resistant to running water and fast driving vehicles that tear up the road.

Well the time has come to where we need another infusion of time and money for maintaining our road.

I purpose that we repair two of the washes with steel mesh and concrete to stop future erosion (the big deep one near the mail boxes and the next one heading south) bring in new materials for stretches needed for grading a smooth surface and a road grader to take out the longstanding bumps / humps that are challenging for backhoe to repair.

It might benefit us to have a longstanding road fund to help keep the road in better shape. The more money and effort we throw at it the better the road will be. I am thinking if we could raise $5000.00

For materials and some folks have already come forward to donate labor we could end up with a fairly good road again. Also I realize the road continues down Blue Lava trail in which we can discuss improvements after we address Lava Peak in which everyone uses. I am hoping we can start working on the road by November 1st so please donate asap.
