Having your first baby at 28 is not meant to be like this.
Sometimes life hands good people a difficult hand and sometimes they need other good people to help them get through.
A small amount for a coffee, help towards the endless bills and mortgage repayments will ease the financial pressures during this time. Together a small amount can make a big difference and give a young family some breathing space to focus on the things that really matter in life. Space to focus on their new born baby and to pour all their energy into helping Laura fight breast cancer.
That final week of pregnancy, the anticipation of how life is going to change for the better. Well not quite for Jake and Laura. Their life was turned upside down in the most unimaginable way. What was meant to be a follow up appointment turned into … a cesarean tomorrow, MRI three days later and your breast removed the following week. Radiation and chemotherapy to start after that.
Little Freddie’s parents have had their world rocked, and even though he should be tucked in his bassinet at home he isn't. His mum has just had major surgery and their start of family life is being spent sleeping in hospital beds.
As a teacher Laura has spent her life giving to others, being a first time mum was not meant to be like this and now instead of being blissfully absorbed in the newborn bubble, she is fighting breast cancer. Jake has exhausted his sick leave and his priority is to be with his family.
They will be forever grateful if we can help them in any way to ensure all of their energy is on their health and Freddie.
