Laura left an incredibly unhealthy marriage 5 years ago and started a life with her 3 children back in her hometown. She has ALWAYS been their primary caregiver. She has raised them and cared for them through every milestone and season of life. She has sacrificed and worked very hard to ensure they have been provided for. She has created a thriving business that has allowed her to be able to send them off to school every day and be home every day when they get home from school. She has designed her life around being the security and consistency her children thrive from. 


In the fall of 2018, there was a difficult situation that led to disagreement and hurt. This process kicked off a legal situation which has taken Laura through custody mediation and a custody trial that lasted 3 days in 2019. 


On January 14, 2020 Laura received the court ruling from the trial. The ruling was insanely one sided and completely lacked fair and unbiased logic. Primary physical custody of the 3 children was awarded to their dad. Starting immediately Laura is only allowed every other weekend and 2 - 4 hour visits during the week. This order was sent with 5 days notice of taking affect. The children sobbed at the news and the idea of such an extreme and abrupt change to their lives.


Laura is hiring an appellate lawyer to attempt to appeal the judge’s decision. Every step of the process through the last year and now going forward with the appeal has been an incredible financial burden. Laura and her husband will fight to get their time back with the kids as long as there is an ability to do so.
