As many of our fellow community members have heard, there has been a tragic loss of lives recently here in Mentor, Ohio. One of which was Laura Colon of Willoughby. Laura was born on October 28, 1961 in Cleveland and had been a lifelong resident of Lake County. She was the Property Manager of Mentor Greens Mobile Home Park. Laura was a collector and had various collections, Boyd Bears being among the many. She was also a baseball fan and it was her dream to one day marry Cal Ripken Jr. Laura had a giving heart and would drop everything to lend a hand to those in need. Her passion though was her grandchildren. They were her world.

She is survived by her son, Luis (Melissa) Colon; daughter, Kimberly (Daniel) Colon Sterk; mother, Ida Mae Reynolds; grandchildren, Evan, Braden, Aubree, Cameron, Luis Jr., and Madelyn; brothers, Charlie Reynolds, William Reynolds; and sisters, Margaret Sharpe and Diane Reynolds.

I have started a fundraiser to help her family. As you know this was very unexpected. Her family is going through a lot. We are asking for donations to help the family not have to worry about any financial burden and be able to stay home to grieve this unbearable loss. We are reaching out to the community for help.
