Imagine being 14 and feeling constantly tired, anxious or unable to concentrate — reaching for snacks but never feeling energised.
Many teenagers tell us this is exactly how they feel but they have never been shown how to change it.
The Vitality Lab goes beyond traditional cooking and nutrition lessons. Using health coaching approaches, we help young people build confidence and practical habits around food, sleep, movement and energy. Skills they can carry into real life.
We are raising £5,535 to launch a six-week pilot for 30 students.
Why This Matters
Teenagers today are growing up in environments that make healthy choices harder than ever.
Rising levels of obesity, type 2 diabetes, anxiety and low concentration are already affecting young people’s health, education and long-term opportunity.
The Vitality Lab combines practical skills, health coaching approaches and real-world evaluation to build a model that can grow and reach many more young people.
What The Pilot Includes
Over six weeks, students will:
- Take part in interactive workshops exploring food, mood, energy and wellbeing
- Learn practical cooking skills in hands-on sessions
- Cook for their community at a final celebration event
- Build confidence, pride and connection
Alongside this, parents will attend weekly workshops so that changes at school are supported at home, creating consistency, shared understanding and a stronger foundation for healthier habits.
We will also gather feedback from students, parents and teachers so the programme can be refined and scaled more widely.
What We’re Raising
We need £5,535 to deliver this pilot safely and effectively.
This covers:
- Workshop delivery for students
- Weekly parent workshops
- Cooking ingredients and equipment
- Safeguarding and coordination
- Evaluation, including comparison with a control group, so we can understand what genuinely makes a difference
If we exceed this target, additional funds will help:
- Establish The Vitality Lab as a Community Interest Company
- Fairly pay health coaches and volunteers
- Develop digital tools to support teen learning and motivation beyond the classroom
Your support seeds more than one programme. It helps lay the foundations for lasting culture change around young people’s health.
How Your Donation Helps
£20 helps provide cooking equipment for 2 to 3 students
£50 helps buy ingredients for a group of 5 students
£75 helps fund ingredients for the community event, supporting teens most in need
Every contribution moves this from idea to impact.
Who’s Behind It
The Vitality Lab was founded by Priya Sinha Kenward, certified health coach, policy specialist and parent, combining experience in public health, coaching and community leadership.
The programme builds on support from Health Coaches Academy and collaboration with schools and local partners.
It sits alongside Priya’s wider work through Radiate Vitality, focused not just on behaviour change but inner transformation — building confidence, self-awareness and sustainable habits that support lifelong wellbeing.
Be Part of the Movement
One class can change 30 lives.
