Sunflower Studio Community Interest Company is an organisation dedicated to uplifting local communities through creativity, well-being, and spirituality. By offering accessible and affordable spaces, both digital and physical, the Sunflower Studio CIC fosters events that inspire positive change, personal growth, and holistic wellness. Led by dedicated co-organisers, who bring their passion for well-being and community development, Sunflower Studio CIC hosts workshops, gatherings, and pop-ups that showcase local artisans and holistic practitioners from a vibrant hub nestled in the heart of Brighton's North Laine. This project envisions a connected and thriving community where creative expression and spiritual exploration flourish, boosting local economies and individual spirits alike. With its physical presence on the high street, an online platform, and community engagement initiatives, Sunflower Studio CIC is sowing the seeds of positive transformation and connection for all who enter its embrace.

Hub Space in the North Laine

The core activity of Sunflower Studio involves providing an inviting and versatile space for private hire. This beautifully designed studio spans around 200 square feet with high ceilings, offering a warm and cosy atmosphere adorned with natural wood, lush plants, and captivating artwork. It accommodates various event types, with capacity ranging from 1-to-1 sessions up to 20 participants, depending on the nature of the event – be it seated, standing, or lying down. The studio's ambience is described as tranquil, diverse, and welcoming, making it a hidden gem for creative expression, holistic well-being, and community connections. It's an incredible space in the heart of central Brighton, thoughtfully managed by warm and kind individuals who embrace a quirky and community-minded ethos.

So far, we have done everything using personal money and resources, which hasn't been easy. As all grassroots projects find out, cash flow is vital for success, and every penny counts. Any donations received will be spent wisely on providing space and opportunity for People, Projects and Plants which are of service to a collective and holistic understanding of the world. Funds raised will contribute specifically to the following initiatives...

Free Creative Space: Providing free space for creatives to nurture their talents, build confidence, realising professional, personal and communal growth. The Free Creative Space project will offer a versatile opportunity to accommodate a wide range of events, from workshops and pop-up markets to intimate gatherings. This diversity will amplify community engagement by catering to different interests and needs. Whether it's skill-building workshops, creative exhibitions, or meaningful discussions, our space will become a hub where community members can connect, learn, and share, ultimately fostering a stronger sense of unity and participation.

Sunflower Zine: Co-creating a community zine featuring local news, creative stories, eco-friendly living tips, and information about community events. Local zines offer numerous benefits, including community engagement, local empowerment, information sharing, a creative outlet, promotion of healthy living and fostering a sense of ownership. This collaborative project celebrates local talent, encourages sustainability, and positively impacts community well-being, making it a powerful tool for community development and connection.

"SunnyRide" Empowering Journeys: Purchase of a 16-seater minibus to provide invaluable transportation assistance to our less able members and to organise nature-focused excursions for the community. The minibus would significantly enhance the capabilities of Sunflower Studio CIC to serve its community by providing accessible, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible transportation options. This, in turn, contributes to the well-being and inclusivity of the community while fostering a deeper connection with nature and each other.
