We are raising startup funds for Common Space Ossining, a brand new nonprofit concept right here in Ossining, NY.

The need is clear: right now, Ossining has a shortage of third spaces that nonprofits can use for board meetings, educational environments, networking, fundraising, and other charitable activities.

When organizations do not have access to usable space for these needs, it creates practical barriers to carrying out and growing their work in the community. Our goal is to source, secure, and subsidize the charitable use of local underutilized spaces so community organizations have more places to do their work.

To get this nonprofit off the ground, the first funds will go toward entity formation, filings, accounting, and web design. These are the practical first steps needed to create the organization and build a foundation that can support its charitable mission. This also means that your donations are not tax exempt, as we are just now in the process of formation and filing for tax-exempt status.

Once the startup work is in place, Common Space Ossining will directly support our local charitable and nonprofit community by helping take space costs and logistical challenges off organizations' plates. That means local charities will be able to increase programming, lower costs, and move past traditional barriers that can make it harder to serve the community effectively.

We're hoping to raise these seed funds within the next 30 days so this work can begin. If this mission speaks to you, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. Your support will help create practical new space solutions for Ossining's nonprofit community and strengthen the charitable work happening locally.

About Us:

Together, Rebecca and Greg Young own and manage the Ossining Riverworks coworking space on State Street, in Downtown Ossining. We have spent countless hours learning the spacial needs of the community around us, donating hundreds of discounted and free hours to both local and nationally recognized nonprofit organizations. We are acutely aware of the growing need for space in Ossining, and the heavy toll that paying full price bears on a small organization.

You may also know Greg for his work as Vice President of the Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce and as an active member of the Ossining/Briarcliff Manor Rotary Club. Greg also volunteers with The Gulotta House and Kindle Community Inc. when called upon.

Outside of her time at Riverworks, Rebecca volunteers with the Ossining Microfund, and as a District Leader for the Ossining Town Democratic Committee.

Jonah (6) and Rachel (3) have stepped into their parents' shoes on more than one occasion, joining mom and dad at community meetings and events - handing out flyers, cutting ribbons, and setting up kids activities at local community events. Mom and Dad make sure that their volunteer work does not interfere with 1st grade and Pre-k!

As a family, we have immersed ourselves in the community around us, getting true joy from our volunteer work as we work tirelessly to support those who do amazing charitable work in our community of Ossining, NY.

We are so grateful for your support as we forge ahead into our newest endeavor!
