Please read about the issue as shared by this article from the Honolulu Civil Beat link and written by Blaze Lovell (Sept 20, 2018) at: https://www.civilbeat.org/2018/09/why-hundreds-of-mililani-residents-must-pay-thousands-of-dollars-to-save-a-few-homes/
To our homeowners, families, and friends of the Launani Valley community, a group of homeowners have actively been in negotiations with the Associa & the LVCA Board. We are asking for transparency and clarity on the decision of the project, how it is that the 833 homeowners are responsible, for the homeowners to consider all of the possible remediation solutions, provide safety, and seek financial practicality for our families. We are asking to STOP THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT at this time. In the Launani Valley community, homeowners have received a bill from Associa to pay for $3902 due on 1/1/2019. Many families will struggle to pay for this amount. Homeowners have come together and petitioned for a Special Meeting to have the LVCA Board & Associa reconsider other sensible solutions to help everyone in our community. The LVCA Board & Associa are unwilling to discuss further.
The homeowners have agreed to have legal representation represented through all meetings and negotiations to protect the our interests. Please offer funds that will help us seek counsel and guidance. We are asking for a recommended donation of $50. If you can offer more, please donate to help our cause. We also welcome our friends and families from neighboring communities to help us.
