During October I will be challenging myself to walk 100 miles in order to raise funds for my son Charlie's football team, Laughton FC U11 Reds.

As many of you know, grassroots teams rely purely on donations / fundraising efforts of various forms and so I wanted to give something back to a sport & team that means so much to me, and my family.

Having undertaken this challenge before it is not easy, and often the unpredictable weather in October means a lot of miles are covered in the wind and rain. It takes a lot of motivation to keep going especially as the miles rack up through the month.

I am a keen walker and love to be outdoors so I am excited for this challenge. I love to walk with friends and family members who make the walks so much more enjoyable. I am already grateful to those who have agreed to undertake some of the longer walks with me that I will need to do to have a chance of reaching the magic number!
