Latisha Eigbe's Fight Against Deportation and displacement

OUR FAMILY STORY WAS AIRED ON CHANNEL 7WKBW on Thursday May, 1st
My name is Latisha Eigbe, and I am seeking assistance in a deeply distressing situation affecting my family. On January 26th, 2025, my husband, Omolybagbe Respect Eigbe, a loving and hardworking husband, father, and brother with no criminal record, was arrested by ICE and taken into custody based on a Final Order of Removal. At the time of his arrest, he was employed by Lactalis American Group.
For three months, we have earnestly pleaded with his ICE officer for his release by submitting a request for release based on our pending I-130 petition, Hardship and my chronic health conditions: scleroderma and interstitial lung disease. Unfortunately, this request was denied.
My husband is the sole provider for our family. Our plans included breastfeeding our daughter for six months before resuming my lung treatment. His arrest has dramatically altered our lives, placing the full burden of childcare, medical appointments, and treatment solely on my shoulders. My 10-year-old son recently lost his biological father, and the potential loss of his stepfather would be devastating.
The hardship and suffering caused by my husband's deportation are immense. We urgently request your intervention to help prevent his removal, considering the exceptional circumstances of our case.
Our lease is also up and we were told last year it would be the last renewal due to my pregnancy at the time because our family size is no longer efficient for our two bedroom apartment. We were searching for a new place at the time of my Husband arrest. We have to be out by May 31st and I have the burden to find a new home for me and my family.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and potential assistance.
Sincerely,
Latisha Eigbe
