Please join us in making a difference! New Leaders Council - Wisconsin, is raising money in collaboration with the Latinx Consortium for Action (LCA), to benefit the LCA Relief Fund housed at Centro Hispano of Dane County. Any donation will help make an impact!

Latinx are the largest non-white racial/ethnic group in Dane County, WI (35,000) and make up close to 70% of the community in Madison and Fitchburg. This community is uniquely vulnerable to the COVID-19 crisis - 70% of Latinx are renters and almost two out of every five work in the service industry in Dane County. Moreover, nearly 50% of Latinx are uninsured in Wisconsin.
The goal of the LCA Emergency Relief Fund is to step up, and prioritize financial needs facing the Latinx community during this time of crisis. The fund will provide flexible financial relief for our most vulnerable populations: undocumented Latinx workers and small immigrant-owned businesses.
We know that the Latinx community in Dane County is marginalized due to the national anti-immigrant sentiments, the burden of public charge legislation poised to deny citizenship status to immigrants who use public benefits, and a lack of access to a drivers’ licenses. This has resulted in less trust and engagement between the Latinx community and formal systems of support.
Over 2,000 applications for assistance were received in a matter of days. To date $640,000 have been raised, but we must raise more! The goal of the LCA is to raise a minimum of $1 million dollars, to meet the urgent needs of the 2000 applications received to date. 100% of funds will go to supporting individuals, households and small businesses.
