Who we are
Latin Girls At Work is a UK-based registered charity, created by and for Latin American womxn and non-binary people living and working in the UK. Our mission is to expand both professional and social opportunities for our community: helping our members grow, connect, share experiences, and develop their skills in a supportive, inclusive space.
Why we need your support
We are wholly run by a dedicated team of volunteers who give their time because they believe in this cause. To maintain and grow our services, free for participants, and reach more people in our community, we need funds. Your donation will directly help us continue offering our schemes and expand our reach.
What we offer
We deliver a range of initiatives to help Latin-American womxn and non-binary professionals thrive in the UK:
Cafecito Advice Scheme: A free professional mentoring and advice programme. Experienced UK-based Latinx professionals volunteer to support those who are early in their career or seeking a change, offering guidance, networks and one-to-one conversations.
Professional Networking & Workshops: Across London and virtually, we run events designed to facilitate professional development designed and hosted by Latinx womxn who have experience in particular fields.
Book Club: A monthly gathering celebrating Latinx literature (fiction and non-fiction), supporting up-and-coming Latinx writers and providing a space for discussion and community.
Ñaña Walks: Bi-monthly walks that nurture connection, wellbeing and peer support among our members. These walks are about movement, fresh air, laughter and building bonds.
Writing Club: A creative space where members exercise storytelling skills, receive peer feedback and support each other’s writing journey.
Social & Community Building Events: Across London and virtually, we run events designed to connect our community and host meaningful cultural conversations.
What we have achieved
We have hosted over 28 events, 9 have been online and 19 were in-person. 12 events were professional building or networking workshops, and 16 were social or community building events, including our Ñaña Walks.
We have hosted 29 sessions of our Book Club and 3 sessions of our Writing Club.
We have successfully made 19 pairings through our Cafecito Advice Scheme.
What your donation will do
Cover platform, website and communication costs so we can keep our services free at the point of access.
Allow us to widen outreach efforts so those who may feel isolated or unheard can join us.
Enable us to host more frequent events, secure venues (for in-person meetups) and provide resources (for example hosting guest speakers, offering materials for workshops).
Support volunteer training, tools and organisation to ensure high-quality delivery of the advice and creative programmes.
Help build a sustainable future so that our network continues to thrive and support Latin American womxn and non-binary professionals across the UK.
Join us in making a difference
Even a small donation makes a real impact. By supporting Latin Girls At Work, you help strengthen a community that often faces additional barriers, such as migration status, degree recognition, language or entry into professional roles.
Together, we can build a network where Latin American womxn and non-binary professionals feel visible, supported and empowered to succeed.
Thank you for investing in our growth, we’re deeply grateful for your generosity and belief in our vision.
