One week ago, my best friend, Latesia was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). To know Latesia is to know she is an extraordinary human being, she is caring, loving, unbelievably strong and goes out of her way to make sure she puts everyone first. This came out of nowhere and has been a shock to us all. Latesia has a long road ahead of her. She started chemotherapy today and will have to be in the hospital for the long 4-week duration of her chemo. Even after hearing her prognosis and enduring the pain of all the tests she has had to have, she is still her loving, positive self. Latesia has spent most of her life caring for others as a CNA and a Respiratory Therapist. Her level of love and selfless care is remarkable. I know everyone has a memory, story, or time when she has helped you or a loved one without hesitation and has always wanted to do something for her. Now is the time to give back to her.
