My dad, Thomas Sievers, has been courageously battling cancer for over a decade. Throughout that time there have been several periods of remission followed by periods of resurfacing. What started out as prostate cancer has now become stage four cancer that has spread throughout his body. This past Thanksgiving, our family was given the depressing news that my dad has less than a year to live. It has really hit us all hard.
With all of the doctor bills piling up and other final preparations trying to be made, it has been difficult to think about putting money aside for something fun.
I started this campaign in an effort to make the most of what time is left. I want our family to have one last camping trip to our favorite spot in Kerrville. The money raised will pay for a long weekend trip down by the Guadalupe River and a fun night out for the family.
I would like to keep this campaign a secret for as long as I can. Anyone who knows my dad, knows that he is not the type of person to ask for help but always the one to give it.
My family and I greatly appreciate any help that is given.
