Superboy’s Last Hope
Donation protected
Merry Christmas friends and family! While we remember this season the people, places, and things that we're most thankful for I thought I'd tell a short story about some amazing people that we should all be thankful for.
My good friends Doug and April have recently taken on the joys (and challenges) of Foster Parenting. They were placed with a young toddler who has had a rough life thus far, spending much of it in a hospital .
For privacy reasons I’m not able to share his happy smiling face with you, his name or details of his condition. I hope everyone understands the need for the child’s privacy. However, for our purposes here I’ll refer to him as ‘Superboy’ a name he’s undoubtedly earned with all he’s been through.

‘Superboy’ (and foster family) will soon be headed out of state to a children’s hospital better suited to take care of his needs and to be placed on a transplant list so that he may one day live a normal, hospital-free life that all kids deserve. It may require that he and his temporary family live out of state for up to 4 years. In order to make this possible Doug and April have to completely uproot, quit jobs, and leave their home and support network. This is a move they feel they must make as this is Superboy's last hope at life, without their sacrifice the prognosis is not good.
This is certainly a life changing event that most of us would find difficult to undertake even with our own children but Doug and April selflessly jumped at the chance to help ‘Superboy,’ trusting that God would provide them with a way to make it happen.

Because of the sudden nature of the situation the financial road ahead is unclear. Doug works as a missionary with youth organizations, April helps him but spends most of her time assisting ‘Superboy’ with his needs. Doug and April are rich with love but not money and although they have relied on donations as missionaries they don’t like to ask for money. This is why I am asking for your help so that they can transition smoothly to their new location and give ‘Superboy’ the opportunity not only to live a full and healthy life but to experience a safe place where he will be cared for in whatever way he needs.

Doug and April have an urgent need for funding to assist them with their move to cover financial gaps while they seek new employment, find a new place to live(in a very expensive city), and try to sell or rent their existing home. While medical expenses for ‘Superboy’ are covered by the state, relocation and living expenses for foster parents are not.
If you know Doug and April then you know they would never ask for this kind of help on their own, they would never squander what they are given, and they will stretch every dollar as far as it will go. If you feel compelled to help them financially, please know that your money is helping 'Superboy' have a healthy and happy future.
