Hi, my name is Mary Ruppert, and I’m an occupational therapy student completing my fieldwork this summer at L'Arche Zimbabwe. This incredible community brings together people with and without intellectual disabilities to live, work, and grow side by side. Their rehabilitation outreach provides vital care to clients with diverse needs, but resources are limited.
I'm raising funds to purchase adaptive equipment that will make a world of difference, including things like:
- Reaching aids for independent tasks
- Feeding aids for dignity during meals
- Bathing aids for safe hygiene
- Fidget toys for sensory stimulation
- Weighted blankets for calming support
Each item empowers adults and children with disabilities in Zimbabwe to live with greater independence, comfort, and dignity. Your generosity can provide the tools to help them live BIG lives.

This fundraiser will end April 30. I'll be leaving for Zimbabwe in mid-May, and hope to gather these supplies in the beginning of May. Every contribution, big or small, cash or in-kind, brings me closer to the goal. Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your network. Together, we can support people served by L'Arche in not just meeting their daily needs, but living full, active lives. Thanks for considering!
