LaPlata County Helping Those with Dementia

Hello, My name is Pat Demarest. I was the catalyst for the Durango Dementia Coalition related to the unfortunate experience of navigating the nonsystem surrounding dementia care and services. We have existed for a year and have achieved a surprising amount, such as outreach talks, respite grant, development of respite day program, local resource directory, and Centura Mercy Family Practice cooperation.

I pledged $1000 as start up funds which is nearly exhausted.

We are asking for some funding to continue the work. YOUR CONTRIBUTION would NOT be tax deductible as we aren't a 501C3. Our current goal is to reach more of the 1300 persons with dementia in LaPlata county. Today we know of about 150.

Money would be used: print Local Dementia Directory, flyers, brochures, business cards, postage, reimburse media specialist. Possible purchase of education programs, reimburse gas expense, and who knows. Small donations are greatly appreciated.
