Laos Community Health Project

Hi All!

We’re a small group of nursing students from Griffith University with an invaluable opportunity this November 2024 to volunteer in the Seuang River Valley District, Laos. We’re covering our own travel expenses, so every dollar we raise will go directly to providing free healthcare and essential supplies to villagers who lack access to basic medical services.

For three weeks, as part of our third-year Community Health placement, we’ll be completing:

- Basic health checks and clinical assessments

- Pre-natal health checks

- Wound care and home visits

- Child nutrition checks

- Training for village health officers

We’ll also provide education on crucial topics like hand washing, sanitation, and reproductive health.

Your support will help us purchase the necessary medical supplies, including medications, dressings, hygiene supplies and Days for Girls kits.

Any contribution you can make will have a direct impact on the health and well-being of these communities.
