Langlands Little Free Library
Donation protected
I want to create a little free library box placed within the community to help parents and children read more. Both myself and my little boy Arthur both love books and wanted to do something within the community to get parents to read more for their enjoyment so their children will love reading too.
I was thinking of creating a little free library box locally where second hand books are donated, swapped and enjoyed by parents and children alike. Within the current financial crisis and families struggling I thought creating this would be a positive reflection on the community of sedgley.
I do understand that we have a local library however due to its impending closure I feel having the convenience of a little library somewhere families pass on their way to school would be extremely convenient.
The initial cost to start up would be roughly £200 for the purchase of charter and cost to make the box. I am more than happy to steward the library myself and restock the book when required as I am very local and on the school run regularly. I feel like this would be a small thing the community can do in order to prepare young children's development for entering the local school system.
So with that said I was writing on here just to get the thoughts and support of locals. I am more than happy to accept book donations as well which would be lovely if your can't donate.
