Land’s End to John O’Groats bike ride
Hi, my name is Mandy and I am cycling with my good friend Claire from Land’s End to John O’Groats in aid of Samaritans Horsham & Crawley branch.
The ride is in September 2024 and we will be cycling 1000 miles in 12 days, so its quite a challenge.
We understand what an amazing role the Samaritans play within the community and that Samaritans is completely run by volunteers. Follow the link below to find out about the amazing work the Samaritans do:
We are aiming to raise a minimum of £3,400 by hosting lots of events.
July update: Unfortunately, my friend Claire has had to pull out of doing the ride due to medical reasons, but I have decided to continue. I am training super hard and have completed just over a 1,000 training miles so far, along with doing Spin and Pilates classes each week just to get me as fit as possible.
The fundraising total has been reached by hosting Quiz nights, a Christmas bazaar, Christmas drinks hamper draw and a Paint Club evening. It would be amazing to continue raising money for this wonderful cause.
Please donate as much as you can to this brilliant cause I know that it will be very much appreciated and help the incredible volunteers to continue providing this very special
service which anyone can use.
Just 4 weeks to go until the big adventure starts ♀️ so the trading is ramping up. 120 miles riden

weekend a trip to Box Hill and then off to the coast on Sunday in the lovely sunshine.

September The Ride
The date for the ride finally arrived, training done, bike ready and bags packed and off to Penzance we go.

At Lands End the weather was a bit windy when 8 cyclists set off for John O’Groats.
The first couple of days were tough with lots of hills going through Cornwall & Devon. The weather decided to change and crossing the Severn Bridge was very scary and we got absolutely soaked but we carried on.

Once we reached Scotland we realised that we were only just halfway to our destination. The Scottish countryside was magnificent and helped to keep us cycling. Our last day was a short ride to John O’Groats but the wind was against us so it proved to be a tough end to our
