Emilio, Airyn and baby Zaku are a loving, playful and skillful family of plant medicine healers from Colombia, who offer profound plant medicine healing to the local people there as well as international groups. They work closely with their “Taita”; a master healer from the Amazon who carries a 5,000 year lineage of wisdom about how to be in right relationship with the land, with ourselves and with each other. Their calling is to help as many people heal as possible, and those who have sat with them can tell you that they are well on their way!

To keep doing this, however, they need immediate support.

They were recently told they have until January 15 to leave the land they have loved, protected, and healed with. They are heartbroken, but they have a vision.

Emilio and Airyn are in search of land to buy in the sacred Northern Mountains. There they will build a new healing center, protect the land, and work equitably with the indigenous people who live in the region.

So many of us look at the state of the world and feel that something is deeply wrong. We might want to help, but get overwhelmed by how much need there is. How could our individual actions make a difference? Sometimes, it’s about taking on big causes. Sometimes, it’s about helping one family have a place to live and help others heal.

Helping this family fulfill their vision not only helps them, but gives anyone who has benefited from any type of indigenous healing practice a chance to put the idea of “reciprocity” into action. When we feel responsible for supporting and protecting the people, plants and land from whom we receive healing, we increase everyone’s wellness and we take one more step in the direction of decolonization.
