On behalf of the Tsurai Ancestral Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and restoring the ancestral lands and cultural heritage of the Tsurai Village - one of the most significant historic Yurok village sites on the California coast- we are humbly seeking donations.
Our organization is made up of direct lineal descendants of Tsurai, and our work is deeply rooted in generations of stewardship, cultural responsibility, and commitment to ensuring that this sacred place is protected for future generations.
We are currently engaged in ongoing legal efforts to enforce a long-standing agreement that would return the undeveloped portion of Tsurai Village to the Yurok Tribe for permanent protection and restoration. This work is critical—not only for our community, but for the preservation of an irreplaceable cultural and historical landscape.
To continue this effort, we are seeking a donation of $15,000. These funds will go directly toward legal expenses associated with this case. We have been fortunate to receive support from committed donors, and are only $15,000 short of our goal. Our attorney, Paul Gallegos, is confident that the trial will be winding up at the end of May and believes our case to be strong. We are hopeful for a favorable judgment.
Your support would have an immediate and meaningful impact—helping us continue this fight to protect Tsurai Village and uphold the cultural legacy of our ancestors. We would welcome the opportunity to share more about our work and the importance of this effort. Thank you for considering our request and for the meaningful work your foundation does to support communities and cultural preservation.
