Hello friends and family,
I hope your Holidays have been filled with great joy and many blessings from the Lord. I’m writing this letter because I have great news! For the past ten months I have felt God calling me back to serve in none other than my homeland, the Philippines! I have spent this year healing relationships that have been lost, restoring my personal relationship with God and repairing my relationship with myself. It’s been a journey and still is a journey, but God has been faithful to provide for me. And He has finally prepared and opened the way for me to go back to the Philippines, after 14 years (since I was adopted). I will be serving with an organization called YWAM, maybe some of you had followed the journey I took through YWAM Australia in 2017. This time I will be serving in the Manila, Philippines for a month.
During my month with YWAM, I will be working with the staff and serve in the community anyway I may be needed. But, I do know that I will be working in the slums of the Philippines. I know this experience will break my heart in a million pieces, but I pray God will use it for His glory. Just a quick fact about the Philippines that I too just learned: Slums are now scattered over 526 communities in all cities and municipalities of Manila, housing 2.5 million people on vacant private or public lands, usually along rivers, near garbage dumps, along railroad tracks, under bridges and beside industrial establishments. I cannot wait to build relationships with the people and help in anyway God may choose. May He use me in ways that will bring blessing to the people and glorify Him. Something I also need prayer in is after the month I volunteer with YWAM, my mom will be flying over to meet me in the Philippines. She and I will be visiting the orphanage I came from and will be connecting with the Social Worker that my brothers and I have known since we entered the orphanage (I was 4yrs old). She will be helping me and my mom find any biological relatives of mine that might be able help tell us the story of why my brothers and I were abandoned. If God wills it, maybe even find one of our parents. Please pray with us for God’s protection, wisdom and guidance during our search.
If you feel called to support me in prayer or financially, or even just want me to keep you updated in my journey, please DM me or email me. I would love nothing more than to have you part of this journey with me. God has been so good and faithful in this season of my life. I believe that one of the most important parts of this journey is to have friends and family’s support in whatever way you may feel God calling you to be part of my journey back to the Philippines.
