Please help me raise funds to support the solar setup at the Karakoram Disability Forum (KDF) in Skardu, Pakistan.
KDF stands as a beacon of inclusion, demonstrating that barriers do not define what people can achieve. It provides a safe and supportive space where persons with disabilities can express themselves and develop their skills.
During my visit to KDF in May 2026, I met Laila Naseeb, a visually impaired woman, whose outlook on life reminded me that, life is beautiful, and that with the right support, we can all find ways to thrive despite the challenges we face.
I also met Razia, who manages the centre’s display space, where women develop their skills in handicrafts and tailoring, all with her support. The centre also has an IT lab where students build essential digital skills, an art space that encourages creativity, and a Braille section that supports access to literacy.
But right now, KDF needs our help.
Power cuts in Skardu have disrupted the centre’s daily activities, plunging its spaces into darkness.
I want to help raise funds to support KDF’s solar setup and help keep this vital community space powered.
Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. Please consider donating or sharing this appeal to help spread the word.
Please watch my video to see inside KDF and meet the inspiring people who make it such a special place: Karakoram Disability Forum Skardu Pakistan
