Laid-off after having a baby

I have been working as a bartender at a restaurant and when my girlfriend became pregnant I told my employers that I would need time off around the due date. Our baby was born at 37 weeks, 3 weeks before the due date. So I then returned to work a couple days after she is born. A couple days later she is readmitted to the hospital for an antibiotic-resistant Staph infection. My boss then offers me two months of unpaid leave and I told him I couldn’t afford it and fired me a few days later anyway. Now we’re struggling to make ends meat. I’m currently searching for a job but I just bought a car to make her appointments, so I just took on a car note and insurance not expecting to be fired. The cars air conditioner went out a month after we bought it but that’s an entirely different issue. Any little bit is appreciated. I never ask for anything but I could use help here.
