This campaign will help bring the Lāhainā Rising story to communities nationwide as a tool for education and dialogue. By supporting or sharing this fundraiser, you’re helping expand conversations around disaster recovery, public health, Indigenous rights, land stewardship, and long-term resilience.

We are a group of Lāhainā filmmakers who created Lāhainā Rising , a documentary about the August 8, 2023 wildfires that forever changed our town.

The film captures the chaos, loss, and courage of that day, when more than 13,000 residents were displaced. At its heart, it highlights the resilience of the Lāhainā community and how local families came together to support one another and begin rebuilding.

As we begin premiering this film, we’re extending this work beyond the screen. Through our Community Education & Impact Campaign, we aim to make Lāhainā Rising accessible to counties and communities nationwide as a resource for learning, reflection, and connection.
