lahaina family affected by wildfire
Donation protected
aloha everyone,
my name is Tiffany Sacapulo, I know this is a long shot to asked for donation, but I just want to give it a shot to help my family that’s in need right now. my childhood home has been destroyed just like the other families that their houses been destroyed by this horrible fire on Aug 8, 2023. It was my family’s forever home and we wouldn’t think something like this would ever happened… my mom came by herself with her sister for a job here in maui while my dad was in saudi arabia for work leaving my mom alone. my mom stayed in maui while her sister headed back to oahu. my mom was in love with maui and lahaina. she called it her forever home.
my mom had help along the way with other family members while she had me and while my dad was still working. she’s super grateful for it truly. my parents were lucky to find a house that we can call a home… They took us in with open arms and i’m super thankful for them. Thank you to the Aceret family for everything… treating us like family… I love you guys. I hope to see the Aceret/Watson family in the near future hoping y’all are well and safe.
my family and I still didn’t check to see the house but I know it’s all gone thanks to our family members that lived with us for many years to give us updates. as the fire started to spread rapidly my family hurried to grab whatever that was necessary and important to us. it may not be much but it was enough for us to live off with for the time being.
our new journey would be moving out of our beloved lahaina town to start fresh to oahu where our family members are living and begging us to leave maui since there’s nothing else for us… we really don’t want to leave our beautiful maui, but it’s for the best for my family… oh our beautiful historic lahaina town how beautiful you were and seeing it all gone in just one night is so devastating to see… hopefully we can come back to home…
at the time being my family and I are safe and staying at my dad’s workplace for shelter. we are so thankful for the guests that are staying here and homeowners that’s living here donating us some food and water during this rough situation. Mahalo for everyone.
I hope everyone that was affected by this horrible disaster is doing okay to say the least. we will get through this together no matter what it takes to try to get back how lahaina looked like before this disaster. it may take years to rebuilt everything back up but I know our community is strong. I love each and every one of you folks .
