Hi there, my name is LaDonna. I’m a single mom to a 23-month-old boy, and I live with my friend and her two daughters.

On 1/26, there was a fire at my apartment building, destroying a unit and causing extreme water damage to mine and a few others. Due to this, I’ve lost everything. Some things could be salvageable, but due to the structural integrity, there is no way for us to get any of it. This means that my apartment may not have caught fire, but everything is still gone.

Truly, anything helps. It’s been such a disheartening couple of days, especially with the false hope that we would be allowed to go in and get more, only for that to be taken away less than a day later.
