Its with heavy hearts to share that on 9/17/2025, we received the devastating news that our studio building in Red Hook tragically caught fire in the middle of the night. We lost 15 years of life's work that's irreplaceable, but with your support we know we can reimagine our creative practice in a whole new way that opens up new possibilities and opportunities. We want to set the intention to utilize the funds we receive for everyone to not just benefit us, but can also expand out to the community in a creative way.

What happened…

The flames started from the floor below us and quickly spread, devastating our space and those of our incredible neighbors—makers, artists, and entrepreneurs. It became a 5-alarm fire, with 250 NYFD members battling the blaze for 36 hours. The fire eventually led the roof and the floor of our space to completely collapse turning our once bright and sunny studio into a black void. Thankfully no occupants were hurt.

The impact…
This studio has been our creative home for the past 9 years, holding 15 years of archives, prototypes, sketches, tools, and countless collected memories. It was where so many ideas were born, where our team came together, and where we hosted magical events and dinners. Those who visited know how special the space was.

The process for many of us affected by the fire means we’ll be grieving for a while but big part of us believe that our creative spirit can exist beyond the physical space and we believe we can transmute this darkness into something new, bright, and transformational.
