La Ronge Wildfire Evacuee Support by Viviana R and Ryan V

My name is Viviana, I live in La Ronge SK. My good friend Ryan Veteri also lives in La Ronge. We have organized this fundraiser as we know our community members need help.

On June 4thh our community and surrounding area was evacuated due to approaching wildfire. The blaze is ongoing and our community does not know when we will be able to return.

Yesterday our downtown corridor began to burn. Agencies are helping some people with accommodations, but there is no support for gasoline or groceries for many who have displaced far from home and are not being hosted by a supporting organization.

There are entire families with minimal supports. This is the best way I could think of to help people from our little town. Our community members need help now and many cannot wait for supports to kick in and when they do.

I hope to raise enough funds to help those who need it, so that they can buy gas to get to the evacuation centers to eat if one is available near them, or to buy groceries if they are not being hosted by an agency.

Myself and another La Ronge resident will be administrating these funds and reporting back publicly to donors and recipients. I think that at this point anything helps.
