Lance and Kelly Pitre are some of the hardest working and warmest hearted people that I have ever known. Their home- as well as their hotel and RV park, L'Acadie Inn, a Cajun landmark that they rebuilt from the Stone Motel in Eunice, Louisiana- was underwater during the recent flooding. Even though the Pitre family took precautions to limit the damage, they could not have predicted nor prevented the extensive ruin to their home and the hotel. They have no flood insurance because they are not in a flood zone. FEMA assistance if received will be limited because of the huge number of people affected by this disaster.
With their own savings, their own hard work, help from friends and family, and with God's grace they have managed to clean up and repair part of the hotel so that they can get back to business. They need help, however. With two kids in college and seminary, and three young ones at home, their regular jobs, their hotel, and with helping their friends, family and neighbors, they could use any financial help possible to return their home and hotel to pre-flood conditions.
Lance and Kelly are wonderful people, loving parents, conscientious citizens, hard-working business owners, and well-known denizens of the local Cajun community. They deserve and need any and all help to get back on their feet. Every dollar helps.
My name is Julie, I am Lance's maternal cousin. I live in Westlake, Louisiana. My home was not impacted beyond the lake in my yard that happens every torrential downpour.
The money raised will help restore the structure and replace the furniture and repair the damage incurred from the flooding at L'Acadie Inn and RV Park. Lance Pitre is also Co-owner of Lakeview Park, another local landmark, that sustained extensive damage. Any funds raised that go above and beyond what he and Kelly need for their home and their hotel will help with repairs at Lakeview park, and for repairs at his family and friends' homes, who may also be without flood insurance. It is a high goal, but any amount will help.
