Thank you for taking the time to read our story and any consideration you may have of assisting. In 2011 I married my wife who immigrated to the US from the Philippines. Her father, my now father-in-law lives in extreme poverty there. A few years ago his particle board makeshift house was blown away by a typhoon. At  that time, we did our best to build him and his three children a home that would be able to stand up to the next typhoon. By the grace of God and a few close friends, we were able to scrounge up enough funds for 4 walls made of brick, but ultimately we came up quite short. They are still without windows and doors, they lack a bathroom, a kitchen and running water. All four of them sleep on makeshift beds on the floor and live off of the $250 we send every month for food for the four of them to eat.

Some might ask why doesn't your father-in-law get a job, and that's a fair question. He worked very hard his whole life, and that ultimately has taken its toll as he is now disabled both physically and mentally. On top of the $250 we send every month, we have been funding additional things like his medication and school for the children, but we can't seem to get far enough ahead to build them a proper kitchen and bathroom.

I know what it means to have a tight budget, so if giving puts undue strain on you and your family, please do not donate. Instead please just pray for them, they need God's mercy. If you are able to give, any amount helps, and will make a huge impact on a family's life for many years. I thank you in advance for your assistance and will keep everyone updated as things progress.

Here are a few photos to show how they live...

Here is my father-in-law next to the family "bathroom" circled in the picture.

This is the families "kitchen," in the rainy season it rains heavily for weeks and cooking becomes almost impossible.

This is the family bedroom that they all share, it has no walls to separate it from the rest of the house and those blue jugs are their water they use for drinking, cleaning, etc. They have to get this water from a well a few miles from their home. In the picture is my eight year old brother.

Without a kitchen or bathroom they don't have a sink or proper place to wash dishes, brush their teeth or store what little possessions they do have.

Here is a picture of my brothers (8 & 5) and sister (15)on Christmas morning. We sent money for them so they could get a present and have something to open, the boys got some toy trucks.

This is the family posing with the monthly allowance we sent and the bag of rice they were able to purchase with the funds. Next to the new door for the house we were able to send for as well.

The rainy season will be here soon, and I'm hoping we can build them a place to cook their meals inside before  it arrives. Thank you again for your consideration. I appreciate whatever you are able to do to help and I know for sure my father-in-law, brothers and sister will feel your love and support.
