I am reaching out to you all now with the heaviest of hearts. I ask that we all come together in support of our friend Diane Gomez and her beautiful children Emilio and Sayanette. This precious family has had to face the unimaginable and unexpected loss of their husband and father, Roland Gomez. As many of you know, Roland and Diane’s love story began 32 years ago. Roland was my very first best friend, and I had the honor of introducing him to my new best friend Diane in the 6th grade. In time, they fell in love and went on to marry and have two perfect children, Emilio and Sayanette. Roland and Diane grew up together; side by side, they built a life filled with love and devotion, laughter, and memories. Their bond was rare and truly special—the kind of love story most only read about in fairy tales. His passing has left a deep void that words simply cannot express. In the midst of overwhelming grief, Diane is now facing the unexpected financial burden that comes with losing her husband so unexpectedly. I humbly come to you all now as friends and family to help lift this beautiful family in love and prayer and to help ease the financial difficulties they now face. So many of us are left with a feeling of helplessness, not knowing what to do or how to be there for them. This is what we can do. We can come together and support Diane, Emilio, and Sayanette in their time of need. No amount is too small. Each and every dollar will be a symbol of love, representing each cherished memory we have of Roland. Please join me in prayer for Roland’s eternal rest and for strength for Diane, Emilio, Sayanette and Roland’s parents and siblings. Roland’s parents and siblings will be covering the cost of the final arrangements. Roland’s wishes will be honored by having a rosary and celebration of life, instead of a viewing and burial.
