Kyle's Battle Against Leukaemia
Donation protected
Hi, I’m James and I’m raising money for our Kyle who at 15 years of age has been diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. In the space of just a few days from Kyle feeling unwell, all the family received this heartbreaking news. It was a major shock, and all our lives were immediately turned upside down.
Kyle was initially operated on to have a port and line fitted and lumbar puncture so the first block of chemotherapy treatment could begin at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) Hospital Newcastle. He is being given regular steroids, amongst other medication which will inevitably have side effects, impacting upon his mood, food tolerance, sleeping patterns and pain amongst others.
A young man who has already experienced adversity in his life now faces his toughest fight yet. We hope and pray he responds well to the initial block of treatment, and then over the next couple of years he will continue his treatment with regular visits to the RVI Hospital.
In 9 weeks’ time (August Bank Holiday), I am going to challenge myself and run from my home in Spennymoor to the RVI Hospital (21 miles) and after completion I shall tell Kyle of the money I have raised for him. We all would appreciate any help you can provide for Kyle and his immediate family for the long road ahead.
Thank you for your support.
