Kyler was born on September 21st,2018 he was born with a congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. A congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) occurs when there is an opening in the diaphragm, the muscle that separates the organs in the abdomen from the organs in the chest. The abnormal development of the diaphragm, occurring before birth, causes a hole in this muscle that helps control breathing and is linked to the development of the lungs. CDH may range from a small hole, or hernia, to the complete lack of the diaphragm. Kyler had his diaphragmatic hernia surgery on October the 10th and he was striving after the surgery.  Kyler did not need ECMO when he was born which was very surprising to all the doctors because he had very little diaphragm on the left side and most babies with severe CDH like Kyler needs ECMO within the first 24 hours. The day before thanksgiving the doctors found out that he has a hiatal hernia. which is condition in which part of the stomach pushes up through the diaphragm muscle. On December the 4th. He was doing very well he was smiling and very alert but then on Wednesday the 5th after his hiatal hernia and G-Tube surgery he had a turn for the worse. The surgery went very well he remained stable the whole time. On December 6th the day after surgery he started getting really sick. The doctors have run multiple test but cannot figure out what is causing him to be so sick. Then on the 11th they decided that it was getting worse, so they decided to put Kyler on ECMO December the 11 @ 1:23pm. Small improvements have been made daily.

I am starting this go fund me to help get everything we need while we are away from home we are currently 3 1/2 hours away. I have only been able to go home twice in the past 3 months because of fear of something happening while I’m gone. Kyler still has a long journey to go before we are able to go home.
