Kyle needs a kidney

Hi! My name is Brandi and I am Kyle's sister.

Yesterday morning, my brother was found, unresponsive on the bathroom floor, by his wife, Christy.

Kyle has been on a long road of stage 5 renal failure since April 1, 2022. Prior to April he was dealing with chest pain and shortness of breath, and on April 1st he had open heart sugery.

Unfortunately it has been a long, bumpy downhill road ever since as his own organs continue to fight against him.

They had been putting off starting dialysis as long as possible. As you may know, once you start dialysis-you dont get off.

They waited as long as they could, but after yesterdays incident, the wait came to an end.

When he was found at 6 am his core temp was at 82, and he was in hypothermia. The hospital said if Christy found him just 30 minutes later he would be dead.

Today, March 7, 2024, my brother started dialysis.

He is to continue dialysis 3 days a week, 4 hours at a time for the rest of his life.

This sudden turn for the worse has taken its tole on the entire family. Kyle is 1 of 7 children, with a wife and 2 children of his own, and a long list of close relatives and friends hoping for a miracle.

-As of now, insurance is only covering dialysis in Columbia. Kyle and his family live in Kirksville. Thats 9+ hours of driving every week. You could help cover a tank of gas.

-Food. On the road, at the hospital, or at home, food is always needed.

-Bills. Theyve dropped to a family of 4 with 1 income, which may grow challanging with trips to the hospital.

-Medical expenses.
