Kyle and Stacy’s Fertility Journey

Donation protected
Kyle and I have been on our infertility journey for nearly 10 years.  Over the past 5 years, we have been to 3 different infertility specialists  from Corpus Christi to San Antonio and have not had any success.  We have tried timed intercourse with medication, and have done 2 unsuccessful IUI's (artificial inseminations).  Recently, we found out about a different fertility specialist in Houston.  I happened to be at Target with a friend and she stopped to talk with one of her friends named Brooke.  Brooke happen to mention she was going through infertility treatment and recommended we try her doctor in Houston.  We just got the good news that Brooke is pregnant!  Going to Houston sounded like a good option since our last visit with our specialist in San Antonio was pretty disheartening.  Our specialist in San Antonio does a procedure called INVOcell.  This procedure takes Kyle's sperm and my eggs, places them into a little device and then the Doctor inserts that device into me for 5 days.  After the 5 days are over, the Doctor would take the device out and see how many, if any, embryos developed.  They would then insert an embryo into me and hope that it takes.  They would freeze any remaining embryos for use if the first round did not take, or donating to someone else.  This is similar to IVF, the only problem was that Kyle's count was a little too low for the procedure to be done in San Antonio.  After finding out that we may not be good candidates for INVOcell in San Antonio, we were pretty much going to give up hope of having a baby of our own.  After talking with Brooke, we decided to go for one last consultation with the specialist in Houston.  After meeting Dr. K and talking with her, we finally got a glimmer of hope for having a child of our own that we haven't had in a really long time.  Dr. K in Houston will still do INVOcell, but she actually inseminates the egg with the sperm before placing them into the device!  This takes all the factors of my endometriosis and Kyle's sperm count out of the way.  According to Dr. K, we have over a 50% chance of getting pregnant by doing INVOcell with her!!  We are hoping to raise enough money to cover the cost of the procedure and fertility medications involved.  We are aiming to have the procedure done in February or March 2020.  Kyle and I have dreamed of being parents for many years and are hoping this procedure will provide that for us.  We pray that you find it in your hearts to help us bring a little Knutson into this crazy world.  We will keep you all updated along the journey.  Please feel free to share this with anyone you feel would be inclined to help.
