My best friend and her child are in urgent need of help to seek safety and justice against an abusive situation.

Our story:

I’m a single parent writing from the most vulnerable place I’ve ever known — asking for help to protect my child from an abusive father.

For more than two years, we’ve been trapped in a long and heartbreaking legal battle. The father has a well-documented history of domestic violence and concerning ties to unsafe and dangerous individuals. He has the means to hire top solicitors and barristers to push his case forward — and he’s used that power relentlessly.

I have sold everything I had to pay for legal fees. Every dollar I could find went into trying to protect my child. Now I have nothing left. No financial support. No safety net. And no lawyer to stand beside me in court.

We’ve been through the Legal Aid system, only to be let down time and time again. The father’s ongoing legal abuse — constant filings, manipulation, and pressure — has overwhelmed the panel lawyers we were assigned. They are underpaid and overstretched, and one by one, they’ve had to walk away from our case. He is using the system to his advantage, while my child’s safety hangs in the balance.

Despite everything, I will never stop fighting for my child. But I cannot keep going without help.

Where the Funds Will Go:

All funds raised will go directly toward hiring a private family lawyer who can truly advocate for my child and stand up to the pressure being placed on this case. We are not asking for luxury, we are asking for safety. Specifically, the money will cover:

Legal fees for a solicitor and/or barrister

Court filing costs

Reports or assessments needed to support our case

Ongoing legal guidance and representation to ensure my child’s safety is finally prioritised

We will keep supporters updated and remain transparent every step of the way.
